Dimension scores
⊙ Nutrition from published plan data · accuracy from 40 Trustpilot reviews · 0% accuracy complaints · USDA Organic
Why it ranks first: Free shipping means zero price gap between advertised and all-in cost —
a perfect 10/10 on price transparency. USDA Organic certification adds a +0.5 bonus to nutritional accuracy
(third-party ingredient oversight). Solid on every dimension with no serious weakness.

● 145 meals analyzed directly from live menu API · 13 Trustpilot reviews · 0% accuracy complaints
The flexibility winner: 10/10 on both price transparency and menu flexibility — the only service
with à la carte ordering (no subscription required), full online cancellation, and zero shipping markup.
The 20.8g protein average spans their full 145-meal catalog including sides and breakfast.
Main entrées average 38.1g protein. Order strategically and the protein efficiency improves significantly.

⊙ Nutrition from published plan data · 34 Trustpilot reviews · 0% accuracy complaints
Best protein-per-dollar at $0.34/g — lowest in the comparison by a meaningful margin.
Factor's 41g average protein across their menu is legitimately high for prepared delivery.
The single drag is price transparency: shipping adds 25% to the advertised $11/meal base on the 4-meal plan.
Ordering 6+ meals per week narrows that gap significantly.

Best delivery reliability (4.3/5 Trustpilot) and near-perfect menu flexibility (9.4/10) —
Sunbasket offers Fresh & Ready single orders without a subscription, full online cancellation, and a wide
range of diet options. The ranking penalty comes from protein efficiency ($0.53/g) and a 45% price markup
on the base plan. Choose a larger plan to bring the all-in cost closer to the advertised rate.

Where it loses to Sunbasket: Green Chef uses the HelloFresh cancellation flow, which requires
navigating deep account settings — a known friction point that drops it to 6.7/10 on menu flexibility.
No à la carte ordering and limited meal-selection flexibility. Strong delivery reliability (8.0/10) and good
protein content, but the 38% price markup from advertised to all-in on the base plan is a headwind.

A category note, not just a score: HelloFresh is a meal kit service — you cook,
which means more balanced, carb-forward recipes and lower protein averages (27g) by design.
If cooking is what you want, this comparison doesn't fairly apply; look at our meal kit category rankings.
The 50% price markup on the base plan (advertised $9.99, all-in $14.98) is the lowest price transparency
score in the group and worth factoring into your decision.

⊙ 212 products via Shopify catalog · 40 Trustpilot reviews · 0% accuracy complaints · nutrition from published program data
1.8/5 Trustpilot is the defining data point. This isn't a sampling blip — it reflects a sustained
pattern across reviews citing missed deliveries, billing disputes, and difficulty cancelling (must call or email;
online cancellation not available). A doctor-designed program with legitimate clinical positioning is
undercut by execution problems visible at scale in review data.
The 5.6/10 on menu flexibility reflects limited meal swapping and the call-to-cancel requirement.
We recommend reviewing current Trustpilot and BBB complaints before subscribing.
How scores are calculated
The methodology behind these rankings
Every score on this page is derived from a fixed formula applied equally to all services.
No service can pay to improve its ranking. The composite uses all five dimensions:
protein value (25%), nutritional accuracy (20%), delivery reliability (20%),
price transparency (20%), and menu flexibility (15%).
Nutritional accuracy is a proxy metric derived from Trustpilot review text analysis (40 reviews per service),
not lab-tested macro verification. Zero accuracy-specific complaints were found across all seven services
in our June 2026 sample. Services with USDA Organic certification receive a +0.5 bonus reflecting
third-party ingredient oversight.
Services marked ⊙ manual seed use nutrition data sourced from each service's published
plan pages and help documentation — not individual meal-level scrapes. Their menus require authentication
to access programmatically.
